11 Good Neighbor Hotels for a Disneyland Vacation
Anaheim has more than 100 hotels, meaning there are many options to choose from when planning a Disneyland vacation. There are large chain hotels like Marriott, Sheraton and Hilton. There are also family-owned hotels like Castle Inn & Suites or Camelot Inn & Suites. Each hotel provides a different experience – room size, pool amenities, complimentary breakfast, WiFi, number of people per room and more. One way to narrow down your options is to look at only Good Neighbor Hotels near the Disneyland Resort.
I recently teamed up with Get Away Today to tour eight of their best selling Good Neighbor Hotels around the Disneyland Resort. During our visit, we stayed at another Good Neighbor Hotel so I could include a review of it in this article. I also pulled from an experience I had with my family at other Good Neighbor Hotels. With that, I’ve organized the 11 hotels based on the level Deluxe, Moderate and Value.
Since everyone has a different budget for a Disneyland vacation, I’m also going to list the perks and deals available exclusively from Get Away Today – and if you use my promo code – CARLTONAUT10 – you’ll save $10 on any vacation package of at least two nights and two tickets.
Disneyland Tickets and Vacation Packages
I love experiencing Disneyland. I’m one of those people who arrive at the park the moment it opens and wants to stay until it closes. I want to hit up every ride and am okay racing back and forth between the two parks (Disneyland and California Adventure) if it means spending less time in lines (Thanks Genie+).

But a Disneyland vacation – especially for a family of seven – can get pricey. That’s where finding the right deal for park tickets and a hotel can make the vacation more doable. My experience with using Get Away Today has been amazing.
When my wife and I came to Disneyland for our honeymoon, we booked our Good Neighbor Hotel and park hopper tickets with Get Away Today and they handled everything. We even got some of the exclusive perks they arranged as part of the vacation package. I’ve outlined the Get Away Today perks you can take advantage of to help enhance your Disneyland vacation experience at each of the Good Neighbor Hotels near Disneyland below.
When you visit the Disneyland Resort with Get Away Today, you get an extra day AND night free! Get a 5-Day Disneyland Resort ticket for the price of a 4-Day ticket and take advantage of Extra Night Free hotel specials.
With nighttime entertainment and character greetings making their return, there’s never been a better time to visit! Summer is right around the corner, but you’ll want to lock-in your availability NOW! Reservations are already starting to fill up for June and July. Theme park tickets and reservations are required for theme park entry, so don’t wait!
Element by Westin Anaheim Resort (Deluxe Property)
One of the things I ALWAYS look for is a complimentary breakfast at the hotel. Not just an offering of a muffin and orange juice, but a full, hot breakfast. Well, Element by Westin Anaheim Resort had an amazing morning setup with lots of offerings. What’s cooler than that? This was the first hotel I’d ever seen that had bikes you can check out to “cruise the town.” There are a limited number of bikes and they’re first-come, first-served. But it would be a fun way to explore Anaheim. They even include helmets in the borrowing program (that’s a win for safety).

During our tour, we saw a five different room types. The Deluxe Room allows you to face the nighttime fireworks at Disneyland. There were rooms with one bed for the adults and bunk beds for the kids. There are sofa sleepers in many of the rooms as well to help accommodate families easier. In fact, they had some room configurations that can sleep up to twelve guests. That makes this Good Neighbor Hotel perfect for larger family vacations.
They don’t have a shuttle to Disneyland, but it’s about a 20 minute walk. If you don’t feel like walking, catch the city bus (ART).
Amenities Include:
- Outdoor pool
- BBQ area
- Free hot breakfast daily
- Convenience store
- Gift shop
- Restaurant
- Fitness center

Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance (Deluxe Property)
The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance hotel was definitely among the nicest Good Neighbor Hotels we toured. Every room at the hotel sleeps six guests. There are two queen beds and one set of bunkbeds. That’s the perfect size for my family. Even with so many beds in one room, the room didn’t feel crowded. Plus, every room has a sliding glass door so you can open it to let some air in or step out onto the balcony.

There are two views available to guests at this Good Neighbor Hotel – the waterpark view and Disneyland views. If you get the Disneyland view, you’ll be able to enjoy the nighttime fireworks from the comfort of your room. The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance has been ranked No. 1 by Trip Advisor from among the 128 hotels in Anaheim. So it’s definitely worth taking a look at when planning a trip to Disneyland.

The water park at the hotel is pretty awesome. There’s a pool (which is heated year round), splash pad area, hot tub and a couple waterslides. I know it’s something my kids would enjoy. But know this: although the pool is included with every reservation, you are required to make a reservation for a time slot at the pool. You can’t just decide on a whim to go to the pool – unless you’re lucky and there’s an open slot.
Amenities Include:
- Outdoor heated pool (with water slides, splash pad, hot tub)
- Free WiFi
- Convenience store
- Gift shop
- Restaurant onsite
- Restaurants nearby (Mimi’s Cafe, Panera Bread, McDonalds)
- Laundry (self service)
- Fitness center
- Valet parking only (no self park) at $30 per day

Sheraton Park Hotel at the Anaheim Resort (Deluxe Property)
There are so many fantastic features of the Sheraton Park Hotel at Anaheim Resort. It’s another one of the nicer Good Neighbor Hotels that can accommodate families visiting Disneyland. One of the best parts… it was recently renovated – a $33 million project! So it’s very modern and it looks like it’s a new hotel.
One of the things I liked most about this Good Neighbor Hotel was the ability to book three connecting rooms. Most hotels only allow for two, but the Sheraton Park Hotel has this larger options to accommodate families. Plus, all of the rooms have a balcony. The larger balconies have a small table and two chairs. That’s perfect for relaxing after a long day at the park. Plus, if you book a room with a Disneyland view, you can watch the fireworks over the park.

The Sheraton Park Hotel at Anaheim Resort is right across the street from Disney’s California Adventure. It’s right behind Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! So you can walk to the park entrance in about 15 minutes. Public transit (known as ART) has a stop in front of the hotel if you prefer to take the bus.

For those times you aren’t rushing from activity to activity in Disneyland, you can relax by the pool with a variety of options. You can swim in the pool, soak in the hot tub, swing in a hammock, play a game of Corn Hole or even chess. The poolside bar offers a refreshing drink or snack, too.
There are a few restaurants onsite. We enjoyed Savor during our trip and the pizzas were AMAZING! Especially the S’mores pizza. Yummy! Trust me. You’ll want to plan an evening at this restaurant, regardless of whether you’re staying at this Good Neighbor Hotel.
Amenities Include:

Fairfield Inn Anaheim Resort (Moderate Property)
I stayed at the Fairfield Inn Anaheim Resort several years ago with my family. It was fantastic in so many ways. Most notably, it’s right across the street from the entrance to Disneyland Resort. There’s also a McDonald’s and Panera Bread in front of this Good Neighbor Hotel, so you can grab a quick – and inexpensive – meal.

There are two room options – two queen beds or a single king bed. For families, you can request connecting rooms so the parents have a room of their own. I know my kids love having a room of their own so they can feel more independent. They are teenagers after all. 😉 Nearly 90% of the hotel rooms have the connecting-room option.
Each of the rooms are outdoor entry, meaning that when the nighttime fireworks begin, all you have to do is step out of your hotel room and you can enjoy the show.
The heated pool and hot tub are a great way to take a break from the park or wind down after a long day inside the parks.

If that’s not enough to psych you up about this Good Neighbor Hotel, then wait until you check out the rooms. There are 352 rooms and 106 of them are family suites with king size beds and bunkbeds. If you have a larger family, the hotel has 21 connected rooms, which sleeps 11 people (7 people in the one bedroom suite, plus 4 in the other side with two queens).
Like a few of the other Good Neighbor Hotels, breakfast is included for every guest. One thing that’s unique with this hotel… they have Mickey waffle irons, which are pretty popular! In the same entrance area to the hotel, there are several restaurants you can enjoy: Jersey Mike’s, One Hawaiian BBQ, Luna Grill and more.
Disneyland Resort is less than a one-mile walk. You can use ART if you don’t feel like walking, or call an UBER/Lyft. If you drove a car, it’s $28 per day to park. But if you booked with Get Away Today, you can save $13 and pay only $15 per day. It’s all self park, below ground – no valet options.

Hampton Inn & Suites Anaheim Resort Convention Center (Moderate Property)
The Hampton Inn & Suites Anaheim Resort Convention Center is another Good Neighbor Hotel with a complimentary hot breakfast. And I’m all about the free breakfast. Plus, you can enjoy free WiFi during your stay. The hotel is one mile from Disneyland, but you can either walk or take ART to get to the park.
The hotel works well for families because a single suite can sleep 7-8 people. The suite includes a king bed, bunk beds and a pullout sofa. If you’ve got a smaller group, the standard two queen room is also available. If you’re doing an extended family vacation, you can request connecting rooms to keep all of you together. I love the fact that each room has a microwave and small fridge. That’s a great option for saving money on dining out, because the dining bill for a large family like mine can add up quickly.

If you want to spend some time at the pool, that’s an option at the Hampton Inn & Suites Anaheim Resort Convention Center. Located on the second floor, the outdoor pool allows swimming and a hot tub for relaxing. The fitness center is on the same floor, so if you didn’t get a workout in running from ride to ride in Disneyland, you can make up for it here. 😉
If you’re celebrating a special event or birthday, there’s a large TV screen in the lobby. Talk with the hotel staff to see about putting up a graphic on the screen to wish someone a Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary. That’s just another fun perk of this Good Neighbor Hotel.

- Outdoor pool + hot tub
- Fitness center
- Free hot breakfast

Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort Convention Center (Moderate Property)
The Homewood Suites hotel brands are known for their evening socials. This Good Neighbor Hotel is no different. Currently, every Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m. there are light refreshments and complimentary beer and wine available. Another popular meeting time is for the free hot breakfast in the morning. The dining area is very nice… plus, they have “The Good Ice” there. You know what I’m talkin’ bout. 😉

The suites are the main reasons families choose to stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort Convention Center. There are one bedroom family suites, which include a king bed and a set of bunkbeds. There’s also a full kitchen and dining table. The one bedroom suite sleeps six. There’s also a one bedroom, 2 queen beds suite, which also includes a full kitchen and dining table. This suite also sleeps six guests. Both are great for families.
There are other standard rooms available at this Good Neighbor Hotel: one with a single king bed, and another with a single queen bed.
The pool and activity area would be a big draw for families, too. It would be fun to play a little basketball with my kids, or try our hand at putting. The pool area is great for swimming, or enjoying a movie night on the big screen nearby. There are BBQs available to the guests as well if you want to grill up your own dinner.

Castle Inn & Suites (Value Property)
I was very impressed with our tour of the Castle Inn & Suites. We met the owner, who is the son of the man who built this Good Neighbor Hotel back in the 1980s. It’s very much a family-owned business and the family is very much involved. The son and his wife led our tour groups to show us the rooms and pool area and answer our questions about the hotel.

The first room we explored was the 1 king, 2 queen family suite. This room sleeps up to six people and includes a bathroom with vanity, plus an extra vanity outside the bathroom so kids can brush their teeth while others shower. The other room configuration is a two queen standard room. Connecting rooms are available and usually aren’t a problem to arrange. Each room has a fridge, microwave and coffee maker.
PLUS… Castle Inn & Suites was ranked No. 6 in TripAdvisor’s 2022 Rankings for Best Hotels for Families. I can totally see why. The family-focused nature of the owners makes me want to stay here to support their business. I am confident that I would get the best service and be super close to the entrance to the Disneyland Resort.
Amenities Include:
- Heated outdoor pool + hot tub + children’s wading pool
- Free, onsite self-parking (Yippie!!)
- Free WiFi
- Onsite laundry facilities

Anaheim Camelot Inn & Suites (Value Property)
This Good Neighbor Hotel wasn’t part of the Get Away Today hotel tour in which I participated. But my family did stay here several years ago and really enjoyed the experience. We had our young kids as well as my parents and grand parents. Strollers and wheelchairs were part of the group. One of the best things about it was its proximity to the Disneyland entrance, which is pretty much across the street.

We had booked a connecting room so my wife and I could stay in the king bed side and the kids could enjoy the two queen beds next door. Since our kids were still pretty young at the time, a connected door was a MUST HAVE. Our family has since grown to seven total members, but this Good Neighbor Hotel still works for us. The 1 King, 2 Queen, Sofa Bed One Bedroom Family Suite sleeps seven. Since our visit more than a decade ago, this hotel has since been refurbished.
The hotel has an outdoor pool on the fourth floor of the hotel. It’s a great spot to watch the Disneyland fireworks show.
Amenities Include:
- Outdoor Pool + Hot tub
- Microwave
- Refrigerator
- Laundry
- In Room Internet Access
- Cable TV
- Video Game Room
- Onsite self-parking ($20 per night)
Portofino Inn & Suites Anaheim (Value Property)
Our family enjoyed spending a night at the Portofino Inn & Suites in Anaheim. It’s just across the street from Disney’s California Adventure Park, and a short walk to the entrance to both parks. The proximity to the park is always a perk when you have kids with you. After walking a bazillion steps around the parks, a long walk to the hotel is a challenge. Plus, if you need to take younger kids back for an afternoon nap, it’s close enough to make that pretty easy.
BOOK YOUR STAY at Portofino Inn & Suites Anaheim with Get Away Today
The hotel has a few room and suite options to suit your needs. You can choose a 2 Queen Deluxe Room for a family of four. If you and your sweetheart are taking the trip, book a King Suite. We were a family of six for this trip, so we stayed in the Kids’ Suite, which included a king bed for mom and dad, a bunk bed for two of the kids and a pull-out sofa bed for two more. It worked perfectly.
After exploring the area, we enjoyed some time in the swimming pool. The hot tub was a great way to rest our feet after all that walking. The pool gave us an opportunity to see who could hold their breath the longest or who could execute the best cannonball! Plus, there was a game room with Air Hockey and an arcade or two. If you didn’t get your workout in walking through the parks, you can visit the fitness center for a little extra workout.
Amenities Include:
- Free Wi-Fi internet access
- Heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi
- Fitness center
- On-site game room
- On-site coin-operated guest laundry
- Gift shop
- It’s 100% a non-smoking hotel
Four Points by Sheraton Anaheim (Value Property)
When I was booking a hotel for our long weekend in Anaheim for the hotel tour, I specifically booked a Good Neighbor Hotel that was not on the tour. I wanted to experience another Good Neighbor Hotel I could share with you. I based my booking decision on two things – it was less expensive than many others, and I could get Marriott Bonvoy points for the stay since I was booking directly with the hotel.
BOOK YOUR STAY at Four Points by Sheraton Anaheim with Get Away Today
The Four Points by Sheraton Anaheim is a short walk over the freeway to the Disneyland Resort entrance. My wife and I were able to easily walk to Downtown Disney for shopping and dining. The proximity to Disneyland is always an important feature of a Good Neighbor Hotel – in my opinion. But the proximity did have one downside… the fireworks show was so loud that had we been sleeping, we would’ve been shaken awake. But the views from the hotels exterior walkways are fantastic.. or from the pool below.
The pool and hot tub were pretty nice. There was even a fun splash pad for the kiddos and a ping pong table. The poolside bar/restaurant was nice, but we didn’t spend a lot of time at the hotel to full experience it.
As for the room itself… it was an inexpensive hotel. The bed and sofa were nice. The shower had warm water and the towels were fluffy. But the floors weren’t very clean. The room was pretty darn basic, and my wife wasn’t impressed with it at all. As I was writing this, I read some of the hotel’s reviews. Many of them were positive, but the complaints people had were in line with our experience as well. So this Good Neighbor Hotel works, but it’s less expensive for a reason.
Amenities Include:
- Outdoor pool + hot tub + splash pad + table tennis
- Great views of the nighttime Disneyland fireworks
- Two blocks from Disneyland Resort entrance
- Fitness Center
- Onsite restaurants
- Convenience store
- Onsite self-parking ($23 per night)
- EV charging station
- Meeting rooms
Summary of the Good Neighbor Hotels
I am looking forward to planning a future family vacation to Disneyland. There are so many hotel options, and since I’ve been able to tour them and get an idea of what each one has to offer, I’m better equipped to book the best one for us. Although I usually look at price, knowing what the hotels actually offer can help me book something a little more expensive, knowing the experience will be worth every penny.
