SEA LIFE Aquarium in Orlando: A Visitor’s Guide

SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium walks visitors through the fish of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean. But it’s more than just looking at fish swimming in their tanks. You engage in activities along the way to learn about the aquatic life and how to be responsible and protect the environment.

Here’s a rundown of what you’ll find at the SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium.

If you’re looking for other activities to do in Orlando, check out Madame Tussauds, Wonderworks, Kennedy Space Center, Disney World Resort or other activities along International Drive.

Book Online and Get the Best Prices

One of the challenges we always run in to when we travel is cost of activities. We are always looking for ways to save a little on expenses. Like many other places, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium offers the best prices online, as opposed to purchased at the door.

Visit their website a day or two before you plan to explore the aquarium. Find the tickets that are right for you. Since SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium is part of the ICON Orlando park, there are other activities (Madame Tussauds and the large Ferris wheel) you can get tickets for – and the more you bundle, the more you save.

Collect stamps at the Dive Stations at SEA LIFE Aquarium in Orlando Carltonaut's Travel Tips

Grab a Dive Log at the SEA LIFE Aquarium

When you first check in at the ticket counter, ask them for a Dive Log. It’s a simply activity that will help your kids engage throughout the aquarium and get a small prize at the end.

But in all honesty, don’t hype up the prize at the end or your child may be disappointed. It was a little plastic medal.

Anyway, as you walk through the aquarium, you’ll find Dive Stations with a number. At each number, stamp your Dive Log. Once you have all the stamps, you can turn it in at the gift shop for your gift.

Touch animals in the SEA LIFE Aquarium touch pools in Orlando Florida Carltonaut's Travel Tips

Experience the Touch Pool… but Wash Your Hands Afterward

I really liked the colors of the touch pool. As you can see from the photo above, there are starfish, sea cucumbers, and anemones. And with friends like these, who needs anemones? Haha!

The touch pool is staffed by an expert who can help maintain the safety of the animals and children, and can answer question about the sea life.

Once your child (or you) has experienced the touch pool, make sure and wash your hands afterward. I saw way too many kids just continue their way through the aquarium with wet, yucky hands.

Walk through a 360-degree tunnel at the SEA LIFE Aquarium in Orlando Florida Carltonaut's Travel Tips

Immerse Yourself in the Tank Without Getting Wet

SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium has the only 360-degree tunnel in Florida. It makes you feel like you’re standing in the the tank with all the fish. You’ll see a sea turtle, eels, sharks, rays and much more swimming throughout the tank. They’ll be swimming above and below you at any given time, so keep your eyes open.

You’ll find a lot of other exhibits and tanks throughout the aquarium. Some of the tanks include a mission sticker, or task, that will challenge your senses. It’s sort of like a game of “I Spy With My Little Eye”.

There’s one room with large touch screens that allow you to play different games or learn about various sea creatures.

The aquarium offers a fun, indoor adventure for the whole family.
